Jewelry in Houston ?
Q.I live in houston and have been trying to find someplace that has a good selection of jewelry sizes. Specifically, what I was looking for was a 8 or 10 ga ring with a diameter of around 3/4". I couldn't find anyplace that had something like that! I didn't think that my request was so unusual. When I told one guy at a local piercing/tattooing place what I wanted, he said, "Wow! That's really big!" and directed me to a local jewelry maker down the road (the jewelry maker's shop was called Dragon"s Lore or something like that and is on Westheimer FYI). The guy there made me a 10 ga ring that ended upbeing about 7/8" wide and only charged me $20, although I went ahead and gave him $25. Has anyone else had this problem here? Does anyone know where I can find larger gauge jewelry? The jewelry maker didn't even carry any * ga at that time. 10 was the largest he had. I'm talking about surgical stainless, by the way.
A.well, i was in houston a couple of weeks ago, and we went to a number of places that have jewelry. where did you go? the place that seemed to ahve the largest jewelry selection was scorpion studios, on westheimer a couple of blocks from montrose. they will probably have what you are looking for. you might also try leather by boots on montrose (near westheimer) but i don't think their selection was that big. other places had some jewelry but not so much. the other tattoo places i went to hardly had anything at all, even if they said they did body piercing.
