Q.I'll never object to adding good young players at any position. But don't try to use that shopworn line about Dallas being old on the offensive line. It ain't true. (Sualua, reportedly, would not start in any circumstances this year.) Interesting, considering Dallas has yet to hold a *minicamp*. Got a source for that? It really doesn't matter because Jerry has stated publicly that he is going for the best available player. when he publicly stated Dallas wouldn't draft a TE in the first round in '97?
A.I think if they trade up, it wont be a blockbuster type trade up into the top 10, but rather into the mid teens. KC looks like a team that might want to move down as everyone is projecting them to take an OT and I think they really want to draft a corner to help replace Dale Carter. They could get a good one at 22 and Dallas could likely grab McFarland at 14. Probably wont happen until KCs pick is up on draft day tho ( if it happens at all). I'm not sure I get your point. Neither Lloyd, a pure weakside OLB, or Wadsworth, a pure DE, have the same sort of "tweener" problems that Kearse has. I suspect Kearse will be best in a 3-4 scheme where he's just cut loose upfield. I'm not sure he fits the Dallas scheme very well, although he's a far better pure pass rusher than anyone on the Cowboys roster. If Dallas actually thinks he could be the base strongside backer, I'd be willing to consider trading up to get him.
