Diamond and Wedding Bands .
Q.We live in New York City and neither of us are from this part of the country. Can anyone recommend a good and trustworthy jeweler? I have an antique engagement ring that needs the main diamond replaced so I will by a loose stone and have it set and of course, we need to get our wedding bands (platinum). I have read about The Wedding Ring Hotline of Englishtown, NJ (owner Mitch Slachman) is he good? Let me know.
A.Probably the cheapest place to get a good diamond is in the diamond district. My friend has gotten things at Dyckmann's before, and they seemed to be honest. I am enclosing a message I sent out back in August in reference to my recent wedding proposal. I bought a loose diamond in Philiadelphia and I had it set by a local jeweler. I was very picky about the diamond and I couldn't be more satisfied with Albert Robbins Jewelers in Philliadelphia. They had a great selection of loose diamonds, there was absolutely no pressure, and they are very thorough and professional. I would not buy another diamond from anybody else. It was a three hour drive for me to get there and it was well worth it.
