Can anyone recommend about Jevelry Watch ?
Q.I live in Sarasota Florida and want to learn the watch repair and jewelry business with the goal of starting my own store. Can anyone recommend schools and books?
A.- for jewelry contact the AGI association. For watches contact AWI. There is a link to AWI on my website. There is also a list of other watchmaking schools on the AWI website. - At one time Pinellas vo-tech had both an excellent jewelry making program and an excellent watchmaking program. They are in south Clearwater but might be worth a look. I also recieved from literature from USF reguarding a jewelry program. Not sure if it ever got off the ground but also worth a check. A number of the high schools in this area (St.Pete) have a jewelry class at night.
