the name of a jewelry cleaning cloth for silver ?
Q.Anyone know the name of a jewelry cleaning cloth for silver? A friend recommended it, saying just rubbing the jewelry with the cloth cleans it. I can't find it anywhere, though. Claims it works like a charm.
A.-the old-fashioned type of cloth was called a "jeweler's rouge," but it's kind of messy. I much prefer the newer type called "Sunshine Cloth" that's been out for a few years. It looks like a piece of yellow flannel. Cleans up minor tarnishing beautifully. I've seen them for sale in jewelry stores and bead shops. You could probably google and find them on the web, too. -Forget the cloth. It gets marked up with dirt/tarnish rather quickly. I use baking soda made into a paste with water. Works like a charm. Buy one of those cheap battery operated toothbrushes to get into the filigree work and crevices.
