Hip Hop Diamond Jewelry
Q.I'm listening to this radio commercial the other day, and it's about some diamond jewelry story. And it says something like, "sometimes we can't seem to find the words to express how much we care for that special some one, but a diamond can so much". etc.. then it went on it's marketing ploy. But I couldn't help but laugh. It's funny how people think their love is shown through how expansive of gifts they can give. I actually had a friend who got married and when she showed me her ring she said, "yeah he paid $3000 for this, sigh.... that's how much he loves me" I just don't think I would give my girl a $3000 diamond to show some kind of token of love. IS that what people have come to now? We better express our love through gifts? I'm not saying I wouldnt give a gift, but the whole money issue is just retarded.
A.the music industry mafia is pimping girl power sniping off their sharp shooter singles from their styrofoam towers and hip hop is tied up in the back room with a logo stuffed in its mouth cuz the master's tools will never dismantle the master's house the ring is, in and of itself the symbol of love, not the cost of the ring. Now, I DO think it's kinda cheesy to buy a girl a ring that doesn't have a real diamond in it, but that doesn't mean I'm about to blow a gajillion dollars on it (unless of course I've got a gajillion dollars to spend on it). My mother has worn the same ring my father gave her for almost 26 years now. The diamond is TINY, but to my mom, it's sacred. That's the way (I think) it should be.
