Gold Jewelry And Diamond PendantQ.For my money, I think I'd rather spend the hundred on a really nice large bouquet of flowers. Or find a decent craft fair or artists market, etc, if you want jewelry, and buy some struggling artists idea of a nice handmade gift. might be silver with some beads, or might be more. But even just in silver with some pretty semiprecious stones, it will be a more worthwhile thing to own than this pendant. it, at least, will have been actually made by someone who has some creative input and care for the product they're selling.t. That, of course, is only my sometimes not so humble opinion, and is fully biased by the fact that as a professional goldsmith and jeweler, I don't have a whole lot of respect for this stuff other than marvelling over the fact that stores can actually get people to spend any money at all on it once they actually get a look at what they're buying. Does it show? A.regarding the type of really cheap jewelry in that post. I don't want to say there isn't a good and valid market or use for such things. So long as buyers understand that it's only barely a step above costume jewelry, if even that, it can still be decorative, and does indeed cost a lot less that items of similar printed description (ie, heart pendant in gold with a half carat of diamonds) but made with proper quality (and size) stones, etc. To some people, the additional cost of the so-called quality stuff is simply yet more money spent on frivolous baubles, yet they still want something, anything, that's a bit decorative. So there is indeed a market, a valid, honest one, for this type of merchandise. And also it should be mentioned that many folks simply don't have, or cannot afford to spend, more money on such things, and this price range is then about right. It's just important that they fully understand what they're buying, and not place too high a value on the mere identity of the materials used. If people see such a piece, and regardless of it's quality, simply like the look, then I'm all for their buying it. My main problem with such stuff is it's often sold mail order, or on TV channels, or web sites, and until a customer actually sees it, they have overly high expectations of what they're getting.
