Q.Looking for manufacturer to create sterling silver custom photo jewelry. Sterling silver bracelets w/charms, pendants, rings and cufflinks with photo image imbeded under acrylic. If you know the process of using acrylic with sterling silver I would love to pick your brain.
A.Are you using a piece of cast acrylic and laminating it to the photo, or planning to cast it over the picture? I don't think acrylic would work the second way, although there are polyester resins ("deco-pour") that might. Either method would produce a piece of jewelry which would be liable to get scratched easily, due to the softness of the plastic. You might do better using a piece of glass to cover the picture, or something even harder, like synthetic corundum. Watch crystals would be a good covering for your photos, and they come in various materials, including artificial sapphire
