Laci's Diamond Rings
Q.I don't believe this story about a new ring being made either. Where did Darth Vader get this from? Scott? Great. One liar telling a story to another one telling it to us. Why do people believe Darth Jackie at her word? It was an interesting slip-up, however. She wasn't accusing the Rochas of taking it out of the *house*. So...how did this jewelry get wherever it was, when, and why? Does anyone really think Laci was having all this stuff remade into some giant piece of bling? No? Then it must have been Scott who took it in. Now why exactly would he be doing that? Some think it's to disguise the jewelry and give it to Amber. Ok, so why didn't he give it to her? I mean the finished (bling-bling!) product? Don't you think, given that we already saw him sell the car, and he was checking into selling the house, that it's far more likely he sold the jewelry for whatever he could get for it? Has anyone here ever taken their wife's jewelry (or if a wife, had it taken) to be made into a big single piece?
A.Yes. For our anniversery three years ago I had a new wedding ring made that took her old engagement ring diamond and set it into a band with two other stones (birthstones for our children). We picked out a new, somewhat larger diamond as a center and had a new "engagement" ring setting made and welded to the band. The jeweler we used says it's pretty common to re-make settings, combine stones, etc.
