Q.I really loved the dragon flies in the bride's hair. Did you find them ready-to-wear or did you make them? It is such a nice touch
A.Older daughter has taken up beading in a big way, and makes custom jewelry she sells. (She has a web site, I'll post the URL if anyone wants to take a look.) She made the dragonfly hair ornaments, with special iridescent wing-shaped beads we found at Shipwreck Beads (NAYY), and created the shape using tiny iridescent beads for the bodies and eyes, and silver wire. I located the silver hair pins online. She also took apart an antique crystal necklace which belonged to their grandmother (and was a gift to her many years ago, from the grandfather they never met), and made the bride's wedding jewelry with the addition of Swarovski tanzanite beads. I think you can see the bridal jewelry in some of the pics.
