Make EACH OTHERS Wedding Rings at the Wedding Ring Workshop ?Q.Make your Wedding even more special by making EACH OTHERS rings at the Wedding Ring Workshop under the expert tuition of our master Jewellers. A.Well, it sounds, on the face of it, like a cool idea, and the posting was, I initially thought, for a workshop sort of thing, so I approved it as an educational opportunity. I must have been REALLY tired or something, because on re-reading the web site, it's clear this is pretty much just a commercial advertisement by a retail jeweler who'll be making money on this setup as an add on option for the sales of his merchandise. As such, I probably should have rejected the ad rather than posting it to group. Sorry about that... Initially I'd thought this was more along the idea of the worshops Brian Adam now and then teaches on his home turf of New Zealand, often with teenagers, where the kids are assisted in the making of silver rings. This thing, though, looks to me like it's a good deal more commercial in nature. Perhaps I'm wrong. I don't know for sure. Ah well. It's a done deal... The idea is sort of cool, though, and perhaps those of you with stores or workshops who deal with retail sales might give it a thought. The posters normally sell traditional simple style wedding bands made from rolled stock, perhaps with stones burnish set therein. Pretty basic goldsmithing. From the look of it, it seems as though, for extra money over the ordinary cost of such b ands, they'll let you sit down at a bench in their shop and, with their help, your hands are the ones doing at least a good deal of the work in making the bands. This doesn't seem like the sort of class where participants would come away really educated in the making of bands and able to go out and do it again on their own, but it does offer an additional romantic/emotional aspect people can purchase along with their wedding bands, which might be a good value indeed when compared with the usual impersonal nature of usually available commercial wedding bands.
