Q.I was wondering what your opinions are on jewelry. Is more less? When I got married (in the late 80's), the bigger the diamond, the more $$$$ you have. But now, I'm seeing more and more women that do have money are wearing no diamond, just a plain wedding band. I like the look of diamonds (just like I like emeralds and saphires and rubies) but I have a problem with the DeBeers people, so my wedding and engagement rings are made from rubies and white saphires. Anyone else have any comments on jewelry?
A.I used to love to pile on my favorite pieces all at the same time but have definitely been letting up. I remember reading a long time ago--think it was a quote from Coco Chanel--about wearing just one really outrageous piece of costume jewlery. Have been trying that, also with good jewlery. It feels less busy, and people do seem to notice the pieces more.
