Beaded Hummingbird
Q.Looking for patterns for this. I bought the one from the bead and button magazine but looking for others. Any ideas?
A.I found a brick stitch beaded hummingbird in an issue of Jewelry Crafts last year that looks wonderful... If you need more info, Email me and I'll send you the specifics of issue, etc... it's done in delicas. Pretty easy, though I haven't got it finished yet... Other bird patterns are at www.dragonfay.com this is the site of the person who made the hummer pattern in the bead and button mag. I'm trying to save up for the other patterns. I've adapted the original pattern which is for seed beads into delicas. Everybody loves them, and I do credit the original artist. I think this necklace is overwrought. The twinkly bar woven horizontally above the hummer's head isn't necessary -- it adds nothing but distraction to the piece. It would've been far more graceful and effective as a piece of jewelry without it. (Another example of not knowing when to stop....)
