Antique Jewelry San Francisco
Q.I went to my first antique fair of the season today. It is a sign Autumn is approaching so I will be following one of my favourite pastimes for the next 8 months. Looking for beads and spoons. I did not get any spoons today because my funds was limited. I am trying to save up for the Big Knit, Sewing and Crafts Expo on the 6th Sept. Going with my Monday night class. There should be beads there. I got a couple of necklaces, also two MOP pendants and a vintage brooch.. The orange colour of the millefiore took my eye. A., I had a friend who was uniquely situated to judge cold. She lived all her life -- up til about age 27 -- in Sweden. She married a guy in San Francisco, and moved here just before winter arrived. She used to bitch about the cold here (which wasn't her nature -- she wasn't the complaining type), saying things like, "It's terrible! It eats into your bones!" Our cold never freezes, you see, and it's very damp. It doesn't numb you -- it insinuates itself inside you. I get worse pain from the cold here than I do in St.Louis, where it snows, or up in our mountains here (think The Donner Party).
