A.Last year I bought some (new) earring and I was surprised to see the jewelry store provide me with a written appraisal document for twice the amount they were charging me for the earrings. If I tried to sell those earrings I would probably not get more than 1/2 the price I paid. So, what is an appraisal supposed to mean?
